Prior to Winter Partners, Chris was President & CEO of Context Relevant, a leading machine learning and data analytics platform. Chris has also spent time as an investor at Formation 8, and in business development and product management at Authentic8, Palantir Technologies, and Skybox Imaging (acq:GOOG). Chris started his career as an aerospace engineer, where he worked on everything from underwater vehicles to unmanned aircraft and space systems.
Chris holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Prior to Winter Partners Shirish spent 15 years as a GP across three Venture funds including Formation8, Khosla Ventures and Matrix Partners. Some of his investments include Aruba Networks (NASDAQ: ARUN), Grandis (acq. By Samsung), and Nutanix (NASDAQ: NTNX).
Shirish’s investing career was preceded by a long operating career at technology companies. He helped build two venture-backed companies, FORE Systems and Alteon Websystems, and led the design and development of their core products. Both companies pioneered new product categories and had multi-billion dollar IPOs followed by multi-billion dollar acquisitions. Shirish began his career at Digital Equipment Corporation.
Shirish holds a Ph.D in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, an MSEE from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelors Degree in Electronics Engineering from IIT-BHU, Varanasi, India.

During T.J.’s 10 year tenure at IQT, he led investments in world class technology startups, including FireEye (NASDAQ: FEYE), Cloudera, Pure Storage (NYSE: PSTG), Cloudant (Acquired by IBM), and Platfora (acquired by Workday).
